2022 Winfield of Dreams Softball Tournament
July 15 - 17, 2022

Who are the Winfield Wolverines?

The Winfield Wolverines are the traveling softball program of the Winfield In Action (WIA) Youth Sports Association. More information on WIA can be found at

This program is geared primarily towards, but not limited to, WIA players and Winfield Park District residents ages 10 to 18, who are seeking a higher level of competition and who are willing to make a substantial commitment to playing softball. Players are selected by a committee based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, performance level, commitment, ability, effort and attitude. Tryouts for the Wolverines program are held in late July or early August for the upcoming season. Wolverine Travel Softball is fielding full-time teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U age levels in 2022.

Age eligibility is determined by the player’s age on January 1, 2022.

The Wolverines believe in a balanced life.  Athletes are encouraged to participate in multiple sports and activities during the off-season.

Players should expect to play between 40- 50 games (approx. 20% in the fall), competing with other area travel teams and in local tournaments.

Teams train indoors throughout the fall and winter months, and practices continue throughout the season, which typically runs from April through the end of July (June and July for high school ages).

There is a registration fee charged to each player to help cover the costs associated with this program. We are proud of the fact that we keep our registration costs low, due to the volunteer participation of parents and family members who help with fundraising efforts and concession duties. Sponsors also play a very important role in assisting with our travel program.

Registration Fee (10, 12, 14, &16U): $500.00

This fee includes field-use fees, umpire fees, complete uniforms (home and away), tournament fees, training fees, etc. Not included are shoes (cleats), mits, or other personal equipment items.  Winfield in Action offers a scholarship program for those in need of financial assistance.
This program is made available through the generosity of Cadence Health.

Note that playing time will depend on, but is not limited to, a player’s performance, dedication, and attitude during practice and games and is at the MANAGER’S DISCRETION. Players will not be guaranteed playing time. Every effort will be made to give players a chance to earn positions during practices and practice games.
